Tutor's Personal Statement: Because of my experience (both at the high school and elementary school level) I think that I would make a great tutor for your child! My current job is to help students that need that extra support. I have become skilled at assisting students who need additional time and one on one teaching. I am patient with all of my students and have benefited from working with two wonderful teachers every day. I have mastery of social studies at the high school level as well and would be comfortable working with older students.
Experience with Special Needs Situations: Currently I am an assistant teacher for two fifth grade classrooms at an elementary school in Arlington. My job is to assist the students that are on individual education plans (IEPs). All of these students are integrated into the regular education classroom. Their disabilities range from language based disabilities to Aspergers and Autism. I assist in all subject areas with these students.
