Tutor's Personal Statement: I have extensive experience tutoring children in both small group and individual environments. I am dedicated to seeing children grow both academically and emotionally and I strive to enable these goals by making learning fun and exciting. I am a patient but consistent person that realizes certain skills are not learned at once and that it takes time and commitment to refine your abilities.

Experience with Special Needs Situations: This past year I served as a full time building substitute. As the building sub I frequently taught in inclusive classrooms. Many of the classrooms had students with diverse backgrounds and learning needs. Acting as the teacher for the day, I had to adapt and modify lesson plans based on individual needs and my own instructional style. I learned that it is very important to be patient, flexible, and consistent when working with students who have special needs.I also worked as a private tutor for Score! Educational services for almost two years. While working at Score I often worked with students who had learning disabilities. I found it very helpful to have a variety manipulatives and organizers to facilitate a meaningful and tangible learning experience and environment.
