Tutor's Personal Statement: I know how to make learning informative AND fun. This was my approach in the classroom. However, it can be more demanding in the classroom as I had to look over 30 students at a time. I would hold tutoring every morning and after school and I found this to be the real rewarding part. Mainly, because I could take the time to work with a student and didn't feel rushed to move on to another subject. I found it much easier to connect (and control) with one student than an entire classroom.

Experience with Special Needs Situations: Yes. In each grade class (6-8) , I had at least 2-4 kids who were special needs. They were in my class about half the week and the other half they got pulled out by the Special Ed teacher. Now granted, the special ed teacher was also in the classroom when they were in my room, but she could not attended to them all at the same time. I would help them every so often after problems were assigned and I would go around the classroom helping students out. This could be challenging as each one had special needs of their own. I was given their IEP's at the beginning of the year to review; each one had different learing styles and I would have to accomidate them accordingly.
