Tutor's Personal Statement: I believe I would be an excellent tutor for you. Based on my educational background and variety of experiences, I am trained to work in any type of situation, with any type of child. I am passionate about teaching and am both reliable and professional. I truly believe there is no student I cannot get through to if I work hard enough at figuring out how each child learns best. Over the years I have learned many different strategies and teaching techniques from some very inspirational teachers. For all of these reasons, I feel I would be a smart choice as your tutor.

Experience with Special Needs Situations: I worked in a Resource Room for two years with special needs students. There I worked with small groups of children who were in grades k-5 and struggling with various learning disabilities. In addition, I worked as a one on one aid for an Autistic child in Kindergarten. I would shadow him at his morning kindergarten session for the first half of the day, then worked with him using the Discrete Trial Method for the remainder of the school day. I would also fill in for another special education aid, who worked with a cordically blind, brain damaged first grader. This child was prone to outbursts and needed help with ambulation and comprehension.
