In Home Tutors

How It Works
  1. You browse our available tutors via our website and then request the tutor who appears best suited for you.  Or, if you'd rather discuss your needs with us first, please give us a call at (855) 438-8886.
  2. The selected tutor will then contact you and arrange a mutually convenient time and location for the first session.
  3. The tutor relies on his or her expertise to develop and implement a plan of action customized specifically for the student.
  4. Parents and tutors sign a Lesson Log after each in-home tutoring session in order to create a roadmap towards success and to maintain accountability.
  5. At the end of each month you will be billed at your tutor's hourly rate for that month's tutoring services.  There is no minimum monthly requirement or long-term commitment.
We have in-home tutors covering all academic subjects and age ranges, from preschool through adult.  In addition, we offer test prep specialists to help you prepare for major exams such as the ACT, SAT, state exams, AP tests, and other standardized tests. Many of our clients utilize more than one tutor at a time.  For example, math tutor on Tuesdays and reading tutor on Thursdays.
What To Expect

The core belief of our in home tutors is that no two students have the same academic needs and learning patterns.  Instead, our tutors work with the student, parents, and teachers (if desired) to assess the student’s tutoring needs and create a customized plan of action.

Our open-architecture process enables your tutor to:

  • Design an action plan and set of goals which are exactly what the student needs.

  • Apply different tutoring methods as situations and personalities warrant.

  • Make “on the fly” adjustments to the action plan without being constrained by a mass marketed curriculum as is often the case at other in home tutoring services.

Your tutor will maintain an ongoing dialogue with you.  At the end of each session, the student, the tutor, and the parent/guardian should debrief, address any open questions, and explicitly map out the next steps in the action plan.
